Smyrna Elementary is fortunate that we have two very engaged organizations that work towards enhancing the success of our students – the PTA and Smyrna ES Foundation.
WHAT IS THE SMYRNA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FOUNDATION?
The purpose of the school foundation is to raise funds outside of what is provided by Cobb County School District to enrich the educational experience at Smyrna Elementary.
HOW DO WE RAISE OUR FUNDS
- A Starry Starry Night, Fall Gala (October 20, 2017)
- Jingle Jog (December 9, 2017)
- Sweetheart Dance (February 10, 2018)
- General donations by parents and community organizations
- Birthday Grams
- Leave A Legacy Blocks
- Dress Down Fridays
The Smyrna ES Foundation has already had an enormous impact on our students. In the four years since Smyrna Elementary first opened the Foundation has fully funded the SES Learning Garden, purchased iPads for every classroom (along with a secured cart to store them in), purchased rovers for Target classes, and supplied our S.T.E.M. lab with numerous robotics and circuitry kits for the students.
This year we are excited about our “BACK TO BASICS” campaign – an effort to bring it back to the basics by providing Reading and Math enrichment for all students at all levels. We are also excited about awarding our first Teacher Mini-Grants this year.
We look forward to meeting more of our SES parents and a great school year! If there are any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to any of the SES Foundation board members or email email@example.com.
